Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Tia came for a visit this weekend and it was so much fun! Here are pictures from their visit in random order. They got here late Friday night, and then we went for a picnic and four wheeling on Saturday.
Megan enjoyed the four wheeler ride so much that she fell asleep. It gave me good practice driving one handed.
Before they came Gavin drew a picture for them. As he was drawing my little sister he said, "Mom, Tia is little like Ms. Tiffany." Ms. Tiffany is one of Gavin's teacher's at school who is a midget! Tia's not a midget, but she is only 4'10''. I thought it was a cute observation Gavin made.

Tia and Gavin playing in the trees. We found a tick on Gavin after we returned home. Yuck!

Megan loves Grandma and Grandpa!

A friend of ours came along with his girls and showed us a beautful place with trails perfect for four wheeling. Here are Taylor, Gavin, Tia, and Marion hanging out and waiting for lunch.

Grandma and Megan.

I've only been four wheeling a few times so this was a great opportunity for me to practice and get used to it. I love it and it's a great family activity!

My dad going for a ride. We had a great weekend and are go glad everyone came to visit!

Birthday girl

Last Saturday we celebrated Megan's 2nd birthday. We spent the morning doing yard work, but in the afternoon we went swimming, then had cupcakes and ice cream. She loved the candles, but didn't know what to do with them.
Yummy cupcakes!

She is beautiful, sweet, and smart! We love our little Meg and we're so happy she's in our family!

Gavin was more excited about her birthday than Megan was. They are getting to be good little friends and I love watching them grow together.

Bathroom Remodel

It's official. I have the most wonderful, considerate husband in the world and he is perfect for me! A few weeks ago I went to BYU Women's Conference in Provo, Ut. with my mom, sister, aunt, cousin, and a family friend. While I was gone Mark arranged for friends to watch our kids and he hired a contractor we know from church to come over and help him remodel our bathroom. They replaced the floor, vanity and sink, mirror, and small accessories such as towel racks, tp holders, etc. I LOVE the result! We have talked about remodeling the bathroom for several months and Mark always mentioned wanting to tile the wall. I couldn't picture it, but I love how it turned out!

The framed mirror matches the vanity.

Mark designed the tile pattern on the floor and it is beautiful!

Shortly after I returned from my trip we celebrated our 7 year anniversary. I feel so blessed to be married to Mark. He is wonderful!

Update

We have been happy but not very busy since I last posted, so here are a few pictures of what we've been up to lately. Megan's hair is long enough to braid now and I love it! I must have braided a little to tight because her hair was pretty stiff.

We went from beautiful 70 degree weather to snow and below freezing. We're grateful to finally have moisture though so we've been content playing dress-up inside.

I apologize for the poor picture quality! My camera has not been the same since it went swimming in the bath tub several months ago. I hope to get a new one in the next couple of months, so if anyone has camera reccomendations, or a website to start my research I'm open to suggestions.
I had a baby shower for my sister-in-law a few weeks ago and it turned out so well! She got some really cute gifts and is mostly set for her baby to come in May. Here is a diaper cake I made for a table center piece. It's the first one I've made and I was pretty proud of it!

Meg is growing so big and more beautiful everyday! She has such a fun, independent personality.

We've also been busy with yardwork. A neighbor came over last weekend and helped us pull some very old, large, ugly shrubs out of our front yard.

Here are the shrubs before we pulled them out. It makes our yard look so much bigger! I don't have an after picture because it's still a mess, but once we have grass I will post a picture!

Gavin got a buzz haircut because...

He started the job himself! It's already growing back and doesn't look too bad anymore. Oh the joys of my wonderful children!

New Toys

Spring is in the air here so we have been enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. A family in our ward is moving in a few months so they sold us their four wheelers!!! We took them out for a test drive today and loved it. I am very inexperienced when it comes to ATVs, but we went to a fun area with rough terrain and plenty of trails so I could practice.
Gavin's favorite part was the helmet, but he was "very brave" and did ride for a little while.

They are small, but a good size for me, and of course Mark likes them too. I feel like I have more control on the small ones than on the bigger ones that are twice my size.

It was quite the balancing act for Megan to walk around with this "hat" on.

Megan did better than expected and went for a long ride with daddy. It was such a fun day!

Artwork

Here are a few pictures of Gavin's latest artwork.
Bugs and grass
This is me. Can you see the resemblance?

The other night I was trying out a new recipe for dinner so I pulled out the markers to occupy the kiddos so I could focus. This is what happens when my lovely children are left unattended with coloring utensils...Megan gets a mustache.

Weekend filled with fun

We went to Idaho over the weekend where we enjoyed visiting with family and playing in the snow. This is the most snow Gavin and Megan have seen in their entire lives and they thought it was great!

Mark climbed on top of his parents roof and jumped off into the snow. Gavin laughed so hard and I was reminded of one of the many reasons I love Mark... his spontaneous streak.

Grandpa pulled out the four wheeler and we all enjoyed going for rides.

Gavin loves playing with his cousins.

Megan didn't like the four wheeler ride, so we got an after shot when she was happy, or at least not crying.

We also spent some time with my family where I went to enrichment and learned how to make these yummy, super easy suckers.

My sister Chelsi was there too and it was so nice to see her!

We took the girls for a short shopping trip.

My youngest sister Tia was a nun in her high school's production of "The Sound of Music". She had a small part but it was a lot of fun to see. Thanks to everyone for a fun time and a great weekend!
