Unexpected Haircut

I have several weeks of catch up to post, but we had an funny incident this morning that I wanted to share. I was upstairs doing my hair and I knew Gavin and Megan were playing in the craft cupboard, but I figured that was harmless. A few seconds into applying my makeup Gavin yells up the stairs, "Okay mommy, I cut Megan's hair!" His tone was very calm and matter-of-fact as if he had just completed a task I had given him. I quickly ran to survey the damage. Her once 2.5 inch long ponytail was shortened to 1 inch and he added in some lovely very short pieces in the front. I was so grateful he told me about his masterpiece before he got too far. I just had to laugh (of course not in front of Gavin) because I know this is something that most parents experience.
