We had a nice relaxing Thanksgiving here in Riverton with Mark's brother Kent, his wife Mariam and their two children Dane and Kate. Aside from Gavin kicking Kent and Mariam out of his bed (he asked them to go home the same night they came so he could have his bedroom back) and frequent arguing between Dane and Gavin; we had a wonderful holiday!
Kate loved to ride in Megan's swing, but here she is giving Meg a turn!
I had never cooked a turkey before and despite my sweet dad's attempts to teach me how over the phone, I was still pretty nervous. Thank heaven for Mariam! She was also a rookie turkey cooker (try saying that 5 times fast), but she did an excellent job. We soaked the turkey in a brine (water and a lot of salt) over night then cooked it for about 4.5 hours the next day. The end result was a moist yummy bird!
The first night they came we had lasagna for dinner. Kate, who is about 20 months old is tall and skinny, but she is a good little eater! Here is a picture of wearing her dinner. It matches her hair nicely!
